A journey into Patagonia's past, traveling in 4x4 vehicles, the program begins with pickup from hotels in Calafate. We'll head to the same places where the first natives left their mark and marvel at the imposing Lago Argentino from the area's cliffs. We'll tour an area with cave paintings where we'll receive an explanation of the significance the natives gave to them. Finally, a lunch is offered in one of the caves adapted for the occasion. Nativo Experience is a midday 4x4 excursion along the coast of Lago Argentino. Ideal for the day of arrival or departure, it has an anthropological focus, taking a journey back in time to trace the passage of humankind in these lands, rediscovering stories of the first expeditions and daring individuals who ventured into the unknown.

Among the cliffs and overlooking the Andes Mountains, the excursion focuses on the first contacts of those expeditionaries with the natives, before delving into the Tehuelche world. On the shores of the lake are the caves where thousands of years ago that culture left their marks in the rock, and which today provide an insight into their interpretation.

Punta Bonita Cliff
We climbed for an incredible panoramic view of the city and its surroundings. From there, we appreciated the expanse of Lake Argentino and the Andes Mountains.

Archaeological Site
We walk (500m) through the archaeological site while we interpret the meaning of the cave paintings we see on the rocks and the techniques used to make them.

Gastronomy in the Cave
