We begin the day with a pickup at the agreed-upon meeting point in El Calafate. During the transfer, we will provide you with information about the site, the glacier, and the excursion. Once at the "Bajo de las Sombras" port (Route 11, km 70.9), you will embark to cross Lago Rico, reaching the opposite shore after approximately 20 minutes of navigation in front of the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Upon disembarking, you will be greeted by mountain guides, who will lead you to a shelter equipped with restroom facilities. From there, you will begin a short hike along the lake's shoreline, which includes a talk on glaciology in general and the Perito Moreno Glacier in particular. Upon reaching the edge of the glacier, the guides will form subgroups of up to 20 people each and will fit you with crampons. Once on the ice, you will receive a brief safety briefing and begin your hike.

The hike is of medium difficulty, lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and along the way you'll be able to appreciate a variety of typical glacier formations, such as crevasses, sinkholes, seracs, lagoons, and more.
At the end of the ice walk, you'll return to the refuge via a footbridge that crosses the lush Andean Patagonian forest. The excursion includes a guided tour of the Perito Moreno Glacier walkways, 7 km from the port. There, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the glacier and explore one of the self-guided trails.

Clothing recommendations:
Warm clothing (hat, gloves, jacket, raincoat). Sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring food and drinks for the day. The Company does not offer food or beverage sales.

Allowed age range from 08 to 65 years old.

Due to the degree of effort and difficulty that this activity presents, the following may not participate:

Pregnant women.
People with any degree or type of physical or mental disability that affects their attention, gait and/or coordination.
People who suffer from central or peripheral cardiovascular diseases, grade III varicose veins (those that are thick and multiple), whose cardiac or vascular capacities are diminished, or who use a stent, bypass, pacemaker or other prosthesis, or suffer from any other pathology that requires the use of anticoagulant medications
People who suffer from diseases that cause respiratory disabilities (COPD, asthma, emphysema, etc.).
