City tour Ushuaia on foot through Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego
Our proposal for you is our Ushuaia on foot program, a different, relaxed excursion through the city, where we will walk through history surrounded by extreme cultural and natural beauty. At the end of the experience, we will take you to a central bar in the city of Ushuaia, where you can continue enjoying personalized attention, tasting the best beers, coffee and chocolates. A unique experience at the end of the world!
We begin our day's adventure at the Ushuaia Cartel, where we will be able to take pictures at this iconic site. From there, we began to walk, amidst stories and anecdotes, in the direction of Bahía Encerrada, passing by a site that gave origin to the city, the High Mission. From the panoramic view of the Bay we will be able to contemplate the city as a whole, and understand through the story of our guides, the rich history of our ancestors, as of old settlers.
Arriving at Casa Beban, passing first through Casa Pena, and having known the objects of very rich historical value of ancient settlers, we will enter into part of the history of Tierra del Fuego. The Beban House belonged to the Beban family, of Croatian, Dalmatian origin, dedicated to a great extent to the supply of general goods from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia, through their two schooners. Then, we will visit the Malvinas Square, and we will be able to contemplate its history, as well as the history of the war conflict of 1982.
After visiting the Günter Pluschow Monument, and learning about his history as a pioneer aviator in the region, we will continue on our way through the Bay to learn about the history of the ship that became an icon of the bay, the Saint Christopher. We will then continue to the city's Civic Square to learn about its history, forged since October 12, 1884, when the national flag was raised for the first time.
Former Government House. We will get to know this emblematic building and its history, forged of pleasant moments and anecdotes, where several dependencies worked throughout the times.
Finally, we can enjoy some delicious beers or something hot with handmade chocolates at the Krund bar, amidst pleasant company and warm service.
