4x4 Excursion to Lake Yehuin from Ushuaia

An ideal circuit for adventure, history and nature lovers. We will live a mixed experience of good times, adventure and excitement, where you will also learn about the history of one of the local native peoples, such as the Selk'nam of Lake Yehuin, among which the famous "Shamans" stood out. Lake Yehuin is of glacial origin and is crescent-shaped and runs parallel to Lake Chepelmut. It contains some islands in its interior and several fjords. It drains into Lake Fagnano through a minor river, a tributary of the Claro River, which drains into the Fagnano, so the Yehuin belongs to the Pacific Ocean basin. On its shores is the Shenolsh hill, from which there are views of the surrounding landscape, along with a small rural village to the north of the lake. Once we start the trip, we will immediately realize that we are traveling through the typical Patagonian steppe, with a flat relief of low, rounded hills devoid of vegetation. Along Provincial Route 18 we will contemplate low forests typical of the area called "Ecotono", as well as the incredible beauty of the Fuegian estancias (ranches) that appear on both sides. You will also be surprised with our complete country snack cooked on lenga embers, an exciting hike to the "Sendero de la Ruca", a hut typical of the ancestors as well as of the lumberjacks, ancient Fuegian settlers, and a delicious 3-step recipe in a classic local restaurant in Tolhuin, the "Corazón de la Isla" (Heart of the Island).
